Star trek turnabout intruder
There is then a court hearing and thus Spock gives his evidence as well as Kirk-in-Janice against Janice-in-Kirk. Soon Spock mind-melds with Kirk-in-Janice and he believes what he says.īut Janice-in-Kirk is onto them and soon has Spock under arrest on the charge of mutiny. I liked that scene where Spock visits Kirk-in-Janice, and Kirk is trying to convince Spock on what’s happened and who he is. Fortunately Spock and Bones have doubts about their captain’s sanity. Kirk-in-Janice tries to convince Spock and Bones that he’s trapped inside a woman’s body, before Janice-in-Kirk knocks him out. I’m impressed how Sandra gets to play Captain Kirk inside a woman’s body which was entertaining. Janice Lester, though mostly she plays Kirk-in-Janice for the episode. But I found it interesting and entertaining, especially when Janice-in-Kirk begins to lose it and goes insane. Sometimes it was a challenge to get around the fact that it was a woman inside Kirk’s body. ? I enjoyed seeing Shatner performing as Janice-in-Kirk during the episode. The episode gives William Shatner a chance to play a villain for a change in ‘Star Trek’ and also give a ‘hammy’ performance.
And of course since Kirk and Janice had this romantic involvement, it would be a factor for personal revenge on her part. I don’t really see how that could be a problem, as surely they would have lady captains by the 23rd century.īut then again Janice is insane and she could have made this all up in her head. The reason why Janice couldn’t be a captain of a starship was apparently due to her gender.
It was tense when Kirk was trapped inside Janice’s body and Janice was using Kirk’s body to be captain, which is what she wants. I found this a really gripping ‘Star Trek’ episode to watch from the series. Soon Kirk is inside Janice’s body whilst Janice is inside Kirk’s, as Janice wants to be the captain of the Enterprise. Janice seems to be on the verge of death.īut it is all a trap, as Janice stuns Kirk in an alien machine that can swap personalities. It’s there where Kirk reunites with an old flame of his named Dr. The episode has the Enterprise visit Camus II in response to a distress call. It’s not the spectacular season finale, but it is decent to end the series. Season 3 of the original ‘Star Trek’, for its ups and downs, comes to a close in the final episode of the series, ‘Turnabout Intruder’.

And the week after that, we’ll sign off with a special bonus Re-watch of the original series pilot, “ The Cage.”Īfter that… who knows? When we find out what’s next, we’ll let you know, but I hear rumors that Dayton and I might be busy writing books or something….Please feel free to comment on my review.
Next week we’ll bring you our wrap-up column, in which we compare our thoughts about the third season from atrocious start to embarrassing finish and all points in between. So, now that we’ve reached the third season’s final episode, that must mean we’re done, right? Not quite. What can I say about “ Turnabout Intruder“ that hasn’t already been muttered by its producers between strings of slurred, drunken curses of shameful regret? Plenty, as you’ll see when you click through and read my scathing analysis, which follows Dayton’s hilarious recap. In fact, approximately fifty minutes and forty seconds too late. It’s Thursday, and that means Dayton Ward and I have finally reached the end of Star Trek‘s wildly uneven third season in our tor.com weekly column, Star Trek Re-watch.
